For those of you that don't yet know, we have moved offices. We are now situated at 41 Sudbury St Darra. We have moved into a bigger office space with an adjoining warehouse. This means that we will be able to better servce you for all your Business Communications needs. The expanded warehouse space will also mean that we will be able to order in bulk and pass on further savings for you!

ACMA regulates geographic numbers for VoIP

ACMA regulates geographic numbers for VoIP The Australian Communications regulator ACMA has announced legislative amendments to regulate the phone numbers issued to VoIP customers.

From today (1/2/11) Australia's Numbering Plan has changed to allow geographic numbers - such as those with 02, 03 or 08 area codes - to be issued to outbound VoIP services.
An ACMA spokesperson has highlighted untimed local calls, which may be charged as if the customer was located within the charging district for their geographic number, no matter their physical location. VoIP customers who had been issued geographic numbers may also have difficulty when moving the number to another network service provider, the ACMA has warned.

Customers who did not wish to be tied to a geographic number could be issued "nomadic" numbers beginning with 0550. For more information on these changes you can go here:

M2 Telecommunications group acquires Clear Telecoms

M2 acquires Clear Telecoms
M2 Telecommunications group has acquired the business assets of Clear Telecoms in a deal worth a reported $24.5million. The deal will include all Clear's existing customer contracts, operating systems, brands and intellectual property. M2 CEO Vaughan Bowen has said that she feels the acquisition will strengthen M2's position in the SMB telco market.

Been affected by the floods?

Flood affected? Has your business been affected by the floods?

First off DO NOT turn power on unless checked by a Qualified electrician - Commander engineers can not (due to OH&S requirements) enter premises unless the building is confirmed as OK by a qualified electrician.

If your system went under water then it is more than likely not fixable.

The fee for a technician to come out and perform a service check is $130

Check phone sockets for damage (can be changed as cleaning may result in 'crackling')

MDF damage - contact building owner as only approved contractors can touch (not commander technicians).

We're shutting over christmas/new year

Hi everyone

Just letting you know that we are closing our doors at 5pm today (23/12/2010). We will reopen again on January 10 in 2011.

If you have any technical problems or require our service department we will still have techs working during this period so you can rest assured that if you have any issues with your phone systems that they will still be promptly fixed.

Just a quick post to let you all know that our last day for the year will be on Thursday 23/12/2010 and will be opening again on January 10 2011.
